Wikipedia:Requested templates

Add new requests for a new template or updates to existing templates to the bottom of this page. Please be clear about what the template is used for, roughly what it should look like, and which articles it should link to, if any.

For requests regarding stub templates, go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals.

A general description and guideline for userboxes can be found at Wikipedia:Userboxes. A detailed instruction to use the userbox template can be found at Template:Userbox. For requests regarding userboxes, go to Wikipedia talk:Userboxes/Ideas.

@Theking2:, check out Template:Clarify. Opalzukor (talk) 08:31, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

Template:Expand languageEdit

I think this request may be an easy one... Right now the link for corresponding article has a switch so that it calls Wikidata information where the article is not specified. I would like the same behavior to happen for the creation of the machine translation link at Can someone help with this? Basically it is just using the same approach from the "corresponding article" link elsewhere in the template, but it has been so long since I worked with parser code that I don't want to mess it up. Thanks! Calliopejen1 (talk) 18:39, 15 September 2020 (UTC)

If you move this to Template talk on that page, specify a bit more what you want, and ping me from there, I can probably do this for you. Mathglot (talk) 00:52, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

"R from tour" templateEdit

I wish to request the creation of an "R from tour" template, to be used on redirect pages for upcoming tours. When searching for this template, I was surprised to find no such one existed. If this template is created, any pages in Category:Upcoming concert tours should include it; I will endeavour to do this, but I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

(Note: Please ping me when you reply)

To output text on to wikipedia as if it were in the source editor, we have the templates {{temp}}, {{elc}} and {{c}}. However, we do not have a template for displaying text between <! -- and -- > tags without spacing it out, as I just did. The AsC (As Comment) template should display text between those tags, without spacing. If this is impossible or if this already exists, then many apologies for wasting your time.

Opalzukor, sounds like you're looking for Template:Example HTML comment. —andrybak (talk) 04:57, 3 October 2020 (UTC)

Cabinet TemplatesEdit

To have several templates linking to other members of a certain cabinet. Example: Charles Robertson on the Norwegian Wikipedia has a template at the bottom linking to other members of Lykke's Cabinet.

Sahaib3005, are you interested in templates for Cabinet of Norway in particular? There is Category:Cabinet templates, which has a lot of cabinet templates. —andrybak (talk) 16:32, 30 October 2020 (UTC)

Cite MoDOT map / Missouri road map templateEdit

Similar to the {{Illinois road map}} and {{Cite MDOT map}} templates, this requested template would link to one of the old highway maps of Missouri. For now, it doesn't appear to exist yet. AlphaBeta135 (talk) 19:37, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
