Created in 1998, its name is derived from the World Wide Web, but is not affiliated with the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium).[1] It is run by Refsnes Data in Norway.[2] W3Schools presents thousands of code examples for users to learn from.

By using their online code editor, Try it Yourself, anyone can edit examples and execute computer code experimentally to see what works and what doesn't work before implementing it.[1]
