Template:Infobox NBA biography being phased outEdit

Hello Santiago. Two points to mention regarding this edit you made to Aron Stewart. The first is that the draft information is correct - he was taken in the 1973 NBA Draft by the Capital Bullets. But, more importantly, you converted "Infobox basketball biography" to "Infobox NBA biography." Please don't do that to any basketball articles. It was the consensus a long while back that all basketball players (current high school and college athletes, current and retired NBA players, current and retired international players) are all to use the generic "Infobox basketball biography." So, in the future, if you could please do help to phase out the NBA biography infobox and change it to basketball biography, that would be helpful. Thank you. Non-free rationale for File:1. FC Frankfurt.gifEdit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:1. FC Frankfurt.gif. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 20:54, 4 October 2015 (UTC)

October 2015Edit

Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Max Thieriot. Specifically see WP:BLPCAT Geraldo Perez (talk) 13:56, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

Why? I'm only after Max Thieriot's ancestry. There's a book referencing his Dutch-Jewish lineage. Santiago Claudio (talk) 04:14, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
If that is not in the article with the reference it does not belong as a category. Geraldo Perez (talk) 04:19, 16 October 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!Edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. File permission problem with File:Julianne Regan.jpgEdit

Thanks for uploading File:Julianne Regan.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 14:20, 5 December 2015 (UTC)

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2015–16 West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

BLP policyEdit

I've reverted your edit at Melanie Shatner as you added unsourced and poorly sourced personal information to the article. Tertiary compendia-type websites (ie. IMDb, biography.com, NNDb) do not meet Wikipedia's reliable sourcing criteria for biographies of living persons. In addition, per WP:BLPCAT and WP:EGRS, the inclusion of descent/ethnicity categories requires that the categories be supported by reliably sourced article content and be a defining characteristic. I see that this was already explained to you above.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:49, 7 June 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Blackwater Sports seasonsEdit

A tag has been placed on Category:Blackwater Sports seasons requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Blackwater Sports and Blackwater Elite are different franchises so technically it's not changing of names.

Draft picksEdit

Could you help me sort these out? Meralco's 17th pick became Alaska's and NorthPort's 21st pick became Phoenix's. I didn't memorize all the trades so a little help would be appreciated. Thanks. Babymissfortune 10:45, 16 December 2018 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attributionEdit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from 2019 NBA draft into 2020 NBA draft. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:53, 1 February 2019 (UTC)

National League North/South allocationsEdit

Hello Santiago. Is this edit based on the announced allocations, or have you guessed which teams would be in the North/South divisions based on geographical locations? If it's the latter, can you revert until the league allocations are announced? Cheers, Number 57 13:55, 14 May 2019 (UTC) Done.Santiago Claudio (talk) 15:53, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

June 2019Edit

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing an article on Wikipedia, you will see a small field labeled "Edit summary" shown under the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Walter Görlitz (talk) 17:12, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

August 2019Edit

Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to List of Universal Music Group artists, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Robvanvee 07:08, 4 August 2019 (UTC)

September 2019Edit

You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. I see you've been told before to include edit summaries, yet still haven't implemented them in many contributions. Please use them as often as possible in the future as they help give people a better sense of what you're trying to do. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 21:13, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

AftermathEdit

Just a note to say that you were correct about the difference between southern British and American pronunciations of aftermath, but it is covered by the trap–bath split and by the general difference between the modern British realisation of æ ([a]) and the usual American [ea], so standard IPA covers both. Dbfirs 08:59, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

@Santiago Claudio: If you are going to post anything in the future, bring something that hasn't been done & seen before. I have to remove your post because it's already covered in the sections. Here are the examples, your edits in parenthesis:
1. Innovative is already mentioned on the Affixes screen. (Also, longer words ending in -ativeB2.)
2. Johnstone is already mentioned as an example & doesn't need to be added any further. (SilverstoneB2)
3. -isation/-ization is already mentioned /aɪ/ & /ɪ/ (improvisation(al))
Here's a Wikipedia link Talk:American and British English pronunciation differences in the talk section that you should read that is dated 04:50, 24 May 2019 (UTC) that I wrote. Also, do check the old logs from that article why are materials added & removed. NKM1974 (talk) 21:25, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!Edit

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

cut & paste moveEdit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Rochester College a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Rochester University. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Pichpich (talk) 19:49, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

June 2020Edit

AllenEdit

Early indications seem to be that Allen will still be competing in the AAC and eligible for NAIA championships in 2020–21, their first year of provisional D2 membership. pʰeːnuːmuː →‎ pʰiːnyːmyː → ‎ɸinimi → ‎fiɲimi 03:56, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

Allen has been accepted to the SIAC, according to this release: https://thesiac.com/news/2020/11/2/general-siac-announces-return-to-play-plans-for-2021.aspx. The release also indicates that they will compete in the SIAC basketball tournament this season – BUT Allen has a 2020–21 basketball schedule up that seems to be an Appalachian Athletic Conference schedule. So I'm not sure exactly how they should be counted this year. pʰeːnuːmuː →‎ pʰiːnyːmyː → ‎ɸinimi → ‎fiɲimi 20:23, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

Requests from sockpuppetsEdit

Hi there. Please ignore any requests you receive from anonymous editors to edit List of ethnic minority politicians in the United Kingdom (or even better, report them at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Marquis de la Eirron). The article is a long-term target of Marquis de la Eirron socks. Cordless Larry (talk) 13:11, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

October 2020Edit

Please do not add or change content, as you did at EMI America Records, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. TJRC (talk) 18:30, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: The Russians Were Rushin', The Yanks Started Yankin'Edit

Hello Santiago Claudio. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of The Russians Were Rushin', The Yanks Started Yankin', a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: OK WP:REDIRECT. Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 09:23, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

October 2020Edit

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Glossary of American terms not widely used in the United Kingdom, you may be blocked from editing. I see you have been warned not to add unreferenced material at least a couple of times already. Please pay heed. Mutt Lunker (talk) 16:24, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Malcolm Shabazz. Sundayclose (talk) 15:44, 31 October 2020 (UTC)

@Sundayclose: There was a source cited in my addition! How could that be unsourced? Santiago Claudio (talk) 00:40, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

November 2020Edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from List of ethnic minority politicians in the United Kingdom. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Thank you.
