UsageEdit
To add an article to the list, simply add the template to the talk page of the article with the following parameters:
{{WikiProject Solar System |class = |importance = |Mars = <!-- yes, if related --> |Mars-importance = |Moon = <!-- yes, if related --> |Moon-importance = |Jupiter = <!-- yes, if related --> |Jupiter-importance = |attention = <!-- yes, if needed --> |needs-infobox = <!-- yes, if needed --> |category = |listas = |small = }}
ParametersEdit
- class – valid values are fa, a, ga, b, c, start, stub, fl, list, na (case-insensitive). See the project's quality scale for details.
- importance – valid values are: top, high, mid, low, na (case-insensitive). See the project's importance scale for details.
- Mars – set
|Mars=yes
if the article is supported by WikiProject Mars.- This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Mars articles, and the relevant subcategory of Category:Mars articles by quality based upon the
|class=
parameter. - Mars-importance (only used if
|Mars=yes
is set; uses the same values as|importance=
) – Importance rating within WikiProject Mars- This importance rating populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Mars articles by importance.
- This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Mars articles, and the relevant subcategory of Category:Mars articles by quality based upon the
- Moon – set
|Moon=yes
if the article is supported by WikiProject Moon.- This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Moon articles, and the relevant subcategory of Category:Moon articles by quality based upon the
|class=
parameter. - Moon-importance (only used if
|Moon=yes
is set; uses the same values as|importance=
) – Importance rating within WikiProject Moon- This importance rating populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Moon articles by importance.
- This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Moon articles, and the relevant subcategory of Category:Moon articles by quality based upon the
- Jupiter – set
|Jupiter=yes
if the article is supported by Jupiter Taskforce.- This parameter populates Category:Taskforce Jupiter articles, and the relevant subcategory of Category:Jupiter articles by quality based upon the
|class=
parameter. - Jupiter-importance (only used if
|Jupiter=yes
is set; uses the same values as|importance=
) – Importance rating within Jupiter Taskforce- This importance rating populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Jupiter articles by importance.
- This parameter populates Category:Taskforce Jupiter articles, and the relevant subcategory of Category:Jupiter articles by quality based upon the
- attention – set
|attention=yes
if the article needs immediate attention from experienced editors. Use only if another parameter does not cover the need for attention; this should be used sparingly. It is strongly encouraged to also add a section to the talk page explaining what needs attention.- This parameter populates Category:Solar System articles needing attention.
- needs-infobox – set
|needs-infobox=yes
if the article needs an infobox. Remember that infoboxes are not suitable for all articles, and can overwhelm short articles.- This parameter populates Category:Solar System articles needing infoboxes.
- category – set
|category=no
if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter. - listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for first name last name, use
|listas=Last name, first name
so that the talk page will show up in the L's and not the f's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people § Ordering names in a category.
It is not required if another WikiProject template on the same page has its own|listas=
set, since it not only affects categories used by the banner in which it is set, but it also affects the sortkey of all other banners and templates. - small – this parameter is no longer supported and can safely be removed from the template.
