Perhaps a section about the friendship/professional relationship twixt Maxwell and Faraday?Edit

I understand that Faraday lived long enough for Maxwell to show him that light was, as Faraday had suggested years before, electromagnetic waves. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.37.99.82 (talk) 17:58, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

Faraday was in many ways influential in the works of James Clerk Maxwell as early as 1855 during his investigation of electricity and magnetism. Although their encounters at King's College, London, 1860–1865 were dully noted as regular during the lectures at the Royal Institution, the relationship was rather monotonous due to Michael Faraday's sign of senility and old age. Regardless of such Maxwell's respect for Faraday's idea reflected on his numerous publications which paved way for mathematical rigour in the fields of electrodynamics and vector calculus.

So, I request you to add the field of "Influenced - James Clerk Maxwell" as Faraday's early works were the inspiration for Maxwell's works on electromagnetism.

I don't understand what it means in his later life: "He had some years before turned down an offer of burial..." Can someone who understands clarify it in an edit? PennyJim1 (talk) 17:24, 13 October 2018 (UTC)

I had to google "interred." I feel it should link to the Wikipedia article on burial: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burial. PennyJim1 (talk) 17:24, 13 October 2018 (UTC)

Protect changeEdit

I am unable to edit due to the semi-protect on the page. I mean to harm to the page. I would like someone to add https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Clerk_Maxwell under James Clerk Maxwell in paragraph 4 as a clickable link for convenience, such as the other names. ParticlePhysicists (talk) 16:07, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

@ParticlePhysicists: James Clerk Maxwell is already linked in the lead of the article, and also in the "Electricity and magnetism" section. We don't link every use of a name in an article. DuncanHill (talk) 18:03, 19 February 2020 (UTC)
