A Thalattosuchian of the family Teleosauridae., Aand a marine crocodrylomorph with a diet probably based on fish. Was consideredConsidered synonymous with Steneosaurus until recently. orHas been considered a sister taxon to both Teleosauridae and Metriorhynchidae.<ref>Benton MJ, Clark JM. 1988.
