dummy edit. i just saw that {{shortcut|WP:TALKDONTREVERT}} has been reverted before. I don't think the name is great... "talk don't revert" isnt the main idea of this section. but the link is used on thousands of pages, so I think for that reason it should be included.

→In talk pages: {{shortcut|WP:TALKDONTREVERT}}. shortcut already exists, just adding the shortcut box.

Undid revision 986436123 by Kolya Butternut (talk) You do not have any consensus for this change to a major policy and major link. If anything, there is a consensus against it.

→Achieving consensus: BOLDly adding WP:ONUS here to illustrate proposal at WT:V. Corresponding change made to WP:VNOTSUFF

Undid revision 983537201 by Crossroads (talk) per this very version of NOCON which I am reverting: "a lack of consensus commonly results in retaining the version of the article as it was prior to the proposal or bold edit. However, there are important limitations: ... When the dispute is about whether to include something, see WP:ONUS."

Undid revision 983502664 by Kolya Butternut (talk) WP:ONUS does apply here and this has been here for a while. It doesn't really matter what's going on at one specific discussion.

Undid revision 979798572 by User:WhatamIdoing I missed this change. If we add WP:COPYVIO, what about WP:3RRNO? Adding a reference to WP:ONUS in this context is intended to fundamentally change the meaning of WP:NOCON. The Consensus Required DS should be consistent with WP:CONSENSUS. This has been interpreted in discussions linked from here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk%3A2016_United_States_election_interference_by_Russia&type=revision&diff=763903105&oldid=763902937

"process of compromise" makes sense in the context of explaining the process, but in the nutshell it could give the wrong idea and may just be unnecessary

→top: started to edit just to remove the awkward "it" in the first sentence, but that second clause just doesn't read well to me. wound up doing a bit of a rewrite. I suppose we're in bold territory now, so revert if controversial
