Second Matabele War
War in Mashonaland: Salisbury barracks was a military settlement prior to it being named Salisbury sans barracks in 1924. The reason was that it was garrisoned by a private army contracted to British South Africa Company aka Cecil John Rhodes, CEO and Empire builder. It was only when the civilian population grew too large and unruly that Rhodes requested the British army to take control which later lead to the official assumption of Crown Colony in 1924 Southern Rhodesia.

Second Matabele War
Fixed incorrect era name to better reflect historical context. Any discussion of Rhodesia prior to 1964 should be properly Southern Rhodesia. There are distinct differences between the two countries. Southern Rhodesia was British property whereas Rhodesia was unilaterally independent. Different flags, different currencies, different governments. Fixed punctuation to Oxford comma in line with Queen's English convention.
