Description
English: Hydrogenation of a C=C bond on a catalyst:

(1) The reactants have adsorbed to the catalyst's surface and H2 has dissociated.
(2) An H atom binds to one of the C atoms. The other C atom is bound to the surface.

(3) The second C atom binds to an H atom. The molecule leaves the surface.

Converted to SVG.svg
This chemistry image could be recreated using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}. It is recommended to name the SVG file "Hydrogenation on catalyst.svg" - then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
