Deutsch: Ein Berylliumtarget für die Neutronentherapie
Ein Protonenstrahl trifft von hinten auf das runde Berylliumstück. Dabei werden Neutronen herausgeschleudert, welche mehr oder weniger gerichtet nach vorne wegfliegen. Da hierbei auch Wärme entsteht, ist das Target in einen wassergekühlten Kupferblock eingelassen.
